ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute will be hosting the 45th Singapore Lecture, to be delivered by Timor-Leste President Dr Jose Ramos-Horta on 8 December 2022. Titled “Timor-Leste from Conflict to Reconciliation, Democracy, and Regional Integration”, the Lecture will be chaired by Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
The Singapore Lecture series was inaugurated in 1980 by the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (formerly Institute of Southeast Asian Studies). The Singapore Lecture is designed to provide an opportunity for distinguished statesmen and leaders of thought and knowledge to reach a wider audience in Singapore. It is intended to combine intellectual and reflective, as well as the political aspects of a discourse and regarded as a major intellectual event in Singapore. Recent speakers include President Moon Jae-In of the Republic of Korea, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Premier Li Keqiang of the People’s Republic of China.
