Toward a Robust “Digital Vietnam”: Strategies, Achievements and Prospects

VIETNAM STUDIES PROGRAMME

About the Webinar

Over the past decade, the Vietnamese government has been promoting digital transformation to support the country’s long-term socio-economic development. These efforts are making good progress through the institutionalization of three pillars: digital government, digital economy, and digital society. The government’s adoption of the National Program for Digital Transformation until 2025 and the National Strategy for Industrial Revolution 4.0 until 2030 has provided important guidelines, enabling the country to achieve important milestones in its digitalization process. However, there remain significant challenges and barriers.

This webinar reviews the achievements and challenges in Vietnam’s digitalization drive so far. It also discusses the opportunities and prospects of the country’s digital transformation in the coming years. Based on these analyses, the webinar will provide some policy recommendations on how Vietnam can overcome the challenges and better implement its strategies for a robust “digital Vietnam”.
