Indonesia’s Digital Trends: A Cause for Concern?

REGIONAL ECONOMIC STUDIES PROGRAMME

About the Webinar

Indonesia’s digital economy sector experienced a two-year boom during the Covid-19 period but has slowed down noticeably recently. As the economy continues to open up in 2023, market behaviour in terms of digital services utilisation is changing. Consumers are reverting to pre-pandemic behaviour by shifting their shopping, dining and entertainment activities from online to offline. In the fintech sector, rising interest rates have increased the cost of loan repayment which has increased problem loans. On the funding side, investors have also become more selective and demanding, as they focus more on profitability over market share from their investee companies. In this webinar, two eminent speakers at Indonesia’s digital frontline will share their experiences and discuss the sector’s future prospects and outlook.
