On-going Research Projects: State propaganda, misinformation and public debate on social media in a time of crisis
Giang Nguyen is an experienced broadcast journalist and editor, with over 20 years of work with the BBC World Service in London where he held senior editorial and managerial positions, such as East Asia Hub Editor, Head of BBC Vietnamese and BBC Thai.
An expert in broadcasting, he had played a key role in the setup of BBC Korean Service and been a prominent analyst and commentator on Vietnam and Southeast Asian current affairs for BBC News and European media.
A Reuters Fellow at Oxford University (2010), he also holds a Master’s in transnational communications at Goldsmiths College, University of London (2008-10). Prior to joining the BBC in Britain, he studied and worked in Poland as a research scientist (Polish Academy of Science), a law school graduate (Warsaw University) and in France as a radio journalist with RFI.
