Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is the Chief Minister of Selangor. He was first appointed Chief Minister after the May 2018 general election and resumed the position after leading the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional alliance to victory at the August 2023 state elections. He has served in the Selangor state assembly since 2008, representing the constituencies of Batu Caves (2008–18) and Sungai Tua (2018–present). He chaired the standing committees of youth development, sports, culture and entrepreneurship development during his term as State Executive Councillor from 2014 to 2018. At the November 2022 general election, he also won the parliament seat of Gombak. Dato’ Seri Amirudin is a Vice President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (People’s Justice Party), and state chairman of Pakatan Harapan Selangor. After graduating with an honours degree in social sciences from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and before stepping into politics, he was programme coordinator at Institut Kajian Dasar, a Kuala Lumpur policy think tank.
