This sharing programme, which kicks off officially today, underscores the continuous efforts by Vietnam and Singapore to find new ways to collaborate and share with each other. Seasoned practitioners and experts from Singtel (one of Singapore’s successful government-linked companies), Singapore Stock Exchange, NUS Business School, and the Asia Competitiveness Institute and Institute of Policy Studies from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy will be sharing their knowledge and perspectives on case studies and the management, accountability and good corporate governance of public companies. Vietnam is keen to accelerate the equitisation of their SOEs and to improve their governance.  24 high-level Vietnamese officials from ministries and central agencies dealing with SOE reforms, and senior managers from major state-owned enterprises took part in the programme.

ISEAS is proud and happy to contribute to this process. During his opening remarks to the Vietnamese participants, Mr Choi Shing Kwok, Director of ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, shared, “Through such an interaction, I hope that you will not only make friends but also establish useful contacts with your Singapore counterparts who could be potential partners as Vietnam pushes ahead with the equitisation of its SOEs.”
