
ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute organized the 37th Singapore Lecture, delivered by His Excellency Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of the Republic of India, at the Shangri-la Hotel Singapore on Monday, 23 November 2015.
The Lecture, chaired by DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam, was titled “India’s Singapore Story”.

ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute organized the 36th Singapore Lecture, delivered by His Excellency President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore on Saturday, 7 November 2015.
The Lecture, chaired by DPM Teo Chee Hean, was entitled “Forging a Strong Partnership to Enhance Prosperity of Asia”.

The ASEAN Studies Centre at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute organised the ASEAN Roundtable 2015 on 14 September 2015. The Roundtable discussed expectations and realities for regional cooperation.

Puan Noor Aishah officially opened the “Yusof Ishak Exhibition” at ISEAS Library on 12 August 2015.

On 12 August 2015, Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education launched the Institute’s new name – ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute. Puan Noor Aishah, wife of Encik Yusof Ishak was ISEAS’ Special Guest.


ISEAS organised the seminar titled, “Will the 11th Malaysia Plan Transform Malaysia into a Developed Country by 2020?” on Thursday, 23 July 2015.
The seminar featured two prominent Malaysian economists, Dr Yeah Kim Leng, Dean, School of Business, Malaysia University of Science and Technology and Dr Muhammed Abdul Khalid, Director of Research, Khazanah Research Institute, who provided critical analyses of the Eleventh Malaysian Plan.

ISEAS organized the 35th Singapore Lecture, delivered by The Hon Tony Abbott MP, Prime Minister of Australia at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore on Monday, 29 June 2015.
The Lecture entitled “Our Common Challenges: Strengthening Security in the Region” was held under the distinguished Chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Teo Chee Hean.


The Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and the University of Michigan co-organised the one-day forum – Indonesia Forum 2015: New Government, New Vision, New Opportunities on Friday, 15 May 2015 at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel Singapore. The Indonesia Forum marks the first time that two leading institutions with extensive research and networks in Southeast Asia are working together.
Professor Dr Ir Indroyono Soesilo, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Republic of Indonesia and University of Michigan alumnus, delivered the keynote address on “Maritime Development in Indonesia: New Opportunities and Challenges” where he outlined the maritime issues facing Indonesia, and the policies being put into place to address these challenges.
