The RSPS programme seeks to address strategic issues within and affecting the Southeast Asian region (and the wider Asia-Pacific), and to understand the dynamics of political change within the regional states. The focus has been on the security and stability of the region and the latter’s relationship with major powers.
The programme publishes the internationally refereed journal Contemporary Southeast Asia three times a year. It covers topics on regionalism, security and strategic affairs, domestic political developments, and international relations relevant to Southeast Asia. It also publishes Southeast Asian Affairs, an annual review of Southeast Asia which is regarded as a flagship publication of ISEAS.
