WANTED: Interns to research collections at the Library.
The intern will be expected to participate in the following tasks:
• Contribute to descriptive indexes based on research findings
• Conduct research of various collections housed in the ISEAS Library, and complete two papers: a short introductory article (800 words) and a more comprehensive 2,500-word paper based on their research. Preference will be given to the following areas:
a. Review of travelogues of Southeast Asia from the Antiquarian Books Collection
b. Review of dictionaries of Southeast Asian languages from the Antiquarian Books Collection
c. Review of Southeast Asia classic literatures
d. Study of historical Southeast Asian newspapers on microfilms
e. Business history in Singapore and Malaysia from 1950s to 1960s through Private Papers Collections
f. Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia – a history of research themes, topics and conferences
