18 Jul	Ambassador K Kesavapany, Director of ISEAS, hosted HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on a visit to the Institute on Monday 18 July 2011 for a briefing and roundtable discussion on ASEAN matters.  The ASEAN Studies Centre (ASC), headed by Mr Rodolfo Severino, provided HRH with an overview of the developments in ASEAN, followed by briefings and recommendations by the ASC’s lead researchers in the three pillars of the ASEAN Community; Dr Pavin Chachavalpongpun on ASEAN Political-Security Community, Ms Sanchita Basu Das on ASEAN Economic Community and Ms Moe Thuzar on ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.  The presentations were followed by a roundtable discussion and a visit to the ISEAS Bookshop.

17 Jun	Rodolfo Severino, Head of the ASEAN Studies Centre at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, told an international conference on the South China Sea that all members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, both claimants and non-claimants, had interests in the disputes in that body of water.
