The APEC Study Centers Consortium meeting, which will be held on September 22-23, 2011 in San Francisco, California, is part of the APEC activities for 2011. The conference is jointly organized by the Berkeley APEC Study Centre and the University of California San Diego APEC Study Center on behalf of the US Consortium of APEC Study Centers, directed by Professors Vinod Aggarwal and Richard Feinberg, respectively.

APEC Study Centers Consortium Conference,
8 to 9 July 2010, Tokyo, Japan.
The Institute of Developing Economies , JETRO (IDE-JETRO) will be hosting the 2010 APEC Study Centers Consortium (ASCC) Conference as a part of APEC Japan 2010.
The Conference will be held from Thursday, 8 July to Friday, 9 July 2010 at the JETRO Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan with a theme on APEC Agenda for Next 20 Years, which would include the following session themes: Regional Economic Integration, Inclusive Growth, Human Security, Corporate Governance, Regional Architecture and so on.

APEC is more than a trade organisation. Its principal objective, adopted in 1991, was: “to sustain the growth and development of the region for the common good of its peoples”. This was to be achieved by consultation and exchange of views, based on the principle of mutual benefit, and a commitment to open dialogue and consensus-building, with equal respect for the views of all participants.

Dr Ramkishen Rajan, co-coordinator of the Regional Economic Studies Unit (RES) at ISEAS, and Associate Professor at George Mason University, USA, is working with Hyun-Hoon Lee of Kangwon University, Korea, on "Foreign Direct Investment in the APEC Region: The Role of Country Risks".

APEC 20th Anniversary High Level Symposium, “20 Years in History: Breaking Down Barriers, Connecting the Region and the World”,10 November 2009
The Singapore APEC Study Centre based at ISEAS, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, organized the APEC 20th Anniversary High-Level Symposium on 10 November 2009. The theme of the Symposium was “20 Years in History: Breaking Down Barriers, Connecting the Region and the World.”
The event was held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre at the sidelines of the APEC Summit. Key figures from APEC economies were present including Ministers, senior officials as well as several special guests who were present at the founding of APEC in November 1989 and actively contributed in the early years of APEC for a candid stock take of their aspirations and visions for the organisation.

2009 APEC STUDY CENTRES CONSORTIUM (ASCC) CONFERENCE ON “APEC AT 20: LOOKING AHEAD TO THE NEXT DECADE”, 13-15 July 2009
The Singapore APEC Study Centre, based at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies(ISEAS), organized the 2009 APEC Study Centres Consortium (ASCC) Conference which lasted from 13 to 15 July 2009. The conference was part of the series of events planned for APEC Singapore 2009, which marked Singapore’s second turn as APEC host economy.
